The drab, white halls of Conkwright Middle needed to some brightening up! The students in Conkwright’s Student Y and our new principal, Mr. Earlywine, decided that re-painting some of the school could inspire the upcoming school year to be bright and fun, a great learning environment! Student Y, with the help of a few parent volunteers, painted the top half of the walls on the first floor red. Using roller brushes and a few hand brushes Student Y spent a whole week painting, touching up, and putting multiple coats to make the walls look great! They spent ALL day at the school, which says a lot considering that it was their summer vacation. They took time out of their break from school, AT the school, when they could have been swimming or hanging out with their friends. They were rewarded though! On the first day of school many unsuspecting students sported many shocked looks when seeing the new, bright red walls for the first time. They all seemed to like it, so that made it worthwhile! Every nook and cranny halfway up the wall is filled with coats of beautiful red paint, and might I say it looks fantastic!
