On Tuesday, October 19, Trinity High School's Y Club hosted a Mock
Election between Attorney General Jack Conway and Dr. Rand Paul. The
program was sponsored by the office of the Secretary of State, Trey
Grayson. Grayson's office was awarded a grant to fund mock elections
throughout the state for up to 50,000 students. Nearly 500 students at
Trinity High School participated in the Mock Election. Trinity's Y Club
has been working throughout the fall on both community based service
and political activism. This Mock Election precedes the annual Kentucky
Youth Assembly, a program sponsored by the Kentucky YMCA Youth
Association. KYA draws thousands of kids across the state to
participate in a mock youth legislature conference. The Trinity Y Club
would like to thank the following: Mr Dan Zoeller, Mr. Adam Klein, the
Kentucky YMCA, and the office of the Secretary of State for their hard
work in making this event a success. Other interested Y Clubs are
encouraged to contact the Secretary of State's office.
