Monroe Co MS Y-club members, 60 in total, participated in their first service project of the school year. Each member was required to bring a non-perishable food item to the club meeting. The item acted as the students’ ticket to gain entry to the first meeting.
All the items collected were donated to the school’s Youth Service Center. The Center will use the items for a 2-fold purpose. Food baskets will be prepared for families in the community. “backpacks’ will also be stuffed and given to underprivileged middle school students on Friday afternoon in order to ensure they will have food in the house for the weekend.
