John Hardin High School

The YMCA club collected items that are most commonly requested by US soldiers in Afghanistan.  We sent one box to a parent of one of our JHHS students who is stationed there.  We sent two other boxes to a former JHHS student.  Upon receiving the items, he shared them with his unit and took pictures, posting them on Facebook for us to see.  Really cool!!!

This was our 10^th Operation Christmas Child project.  We packed 65 plastic shoeboxes to be shipped to disadvanted children worldwide as part of Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program.  See more at www.samaritanspurse.org.

We created  homemade Valentines for residents of Woodland Terrace Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.  One of our members has a grandfather who is a resident there.  She asked that we do this because she noticed at Christmas that many of the residents had no holiday decorations and seemed neglected by family.
